Microsoft Word allows you to track formatting changes to a document so you can see what is added and deleted as the document is revised. Anyone can turn on the track changes option at any point in the document's revision. Even when the document is closed, saved or saved as another file, the track changes markup will remain. While this markup is useful during the editing process, you will want to turn off the track formatting changes for the final document.
Difficulty: Moderately EasyInstructions1Navigate to the "Review" tab along Word's top toolbar. This will allow you to view the "Tracking" and "Changes" group.
2Click the arrow in the "Show Markup" drop down menu in the "Tracking" group.
3Place a mark next to the "Formatting" box if this box is not already marked.
4Click the "Accept" button in the "Changes" group.
5Select "Accept All Changes in Document" from the "Accept" options. This will accept all the changes and remove the format tracking marks in your document.
6Save the changes to your document.
